NON VERBAL NEGOTIATION
When you are negotiating with another party, not all of your skills are based on verbal communication. Messaging can also be non-verbal.
- The image posted above lists verbal, and non-verbal communication and assertiveness.
- Non-verbal communication is said to account for 70% or more of human communication. This includes everything from lolling your head, to rolling your eyes, to shrugging your shoulders, to laughter and a good deal more. These non-verbal communications message your thoughts.
- If you want to communicate effectively, be aware that your non-verbal communication may say more about your thoughts than you realize.
- Lastly, assertiveness is fine as long as it does not cross the line into aggression.
